One funny aspect of liberals fleeing Russia for the west is that their images of the west are images of years earlier. Now, as they run to the EU/US they are entering a world that is in the process of collapse. They might be content in the short term, but as their funds deplete, and they realize they are considered foreigners by much of the local population, many will probably start longing for home. They might realize they jumped out of the frying pan, into the fire.

I saw another comment that says they should be banned from returning, but I think that might be a bad idea. If they return with a new understanding of the world, they might become a valuable asset for Russia.

If I were younger I would entertain the thought of visiting Russia, to see if moving there would be an option. C'est la vie!

Since Zogs sanctions mostly effect nobody's like me I need to live part time in Russia and part time in Belarus for financial reasons. Western oligarchs can still do business with Gasprom for billions but i cant transfer anything to a bank in Russia. But anyway as for bedding imo Belarusian made furniture is the gold standard. Fairly cheap considering the quality and just as comfortable as something I would have bought in the US for 4 times the price.

I was watching an interview with German Saduleav who is some guy semi well known with neo-soviet boomers in Russia and his idea is that to advance in the Russia government and society in general it should be mandatory to serve in the Donbass. Like if you want to be in charge of an oblast one day than you need to first serve in the administration somewhere in the warzone under NATO artillery and dodging SBU stay behind assasins. Naturally military service would also be mandatory.

He brought up the British Empire in its hey day as an example. I tend to loath the Brits but his point here was solid, back in the day British nobility really did serve in dangerous places before they could come back and hang out with Lord Rothschild and Benjamin Disraeli. Lots of actual British blue bloods were killed when the Russians savaged the light brigade. British nobles back than were on the sharp end of suppressing the natives in all far flung corners of their empire.

Of course Russia and most other European countries had this sort of expectation in regards to the nobility but it was much more pronounced and visible with the Brits back than. In Russias case for every noble that faithfully served you had 5 conspiring against Tsar, probably with the Brits. Maybe its just because Slavland is my home now so im more neurotic about it but God does it seem like there is something especially malevolent and evil about Russias elite and it goes back to well before the October revolution. The war going hot has just put the spotlight on that and made it apparent that the war is mostly about them vs Putin or the patriots and whoever. Its a war for Russias sole and the hohols and NATO are secondary players.

But yeah, God is absolutely not giving Russia any easy victorys. The liberals\servants of mammon need to be utterly uprooted and flushed down the toilet in totality or Russia is going to lose long term. Theres nowhere left to retreat and its getting down to do or die.

My wife and I lived in a city for 2 years and couldn't stand it. It's just gay bars, annoying protests every 2 years and getting shot/stabbed by black people. We noticed we were driving out of downtown to do everything anyway, so we moved out. I can't imagine not having at least some land. It rots the soul.

The Soviet Union limited people from moving to Moscow.

Trump moved the Department of Interior HQ from DC to the west, Russia can move ministries out of Moscow. Modern transport and communications enables this.

Russia gained lots of empty waterfront property with a nice climate, during the war. Much better place to live than dreary Moscow or St. Petersburg.

Again. Again. Again. Everything has to do with the State, which, according to most Russians (even liberals), should "do more". But the "State" (you mean in fact money, power, and not this abstraction called the "State", but in Russia it's essentially the same thing) cannot be aware of all the issues of the country, moreover, on a psychological perspective, people who aim at serving in a very hierarchical organisation are usually totally uncreative and unaware. In my opinion, Russia ought to develop another path than constantly relying on the goodwill of the State. One solution that demonstrated its efficiency through the course of history is banking. It really unleashed unprecedented progress, when properly used. But you want to make sure that this banking thing (which is dramatically underdeveloped in Russia, for the best and for the worst) stays "patriotic".

I know by studying in MGIMO the next generation of State officials. Spoiler : they are dumb and arrogant, and don't know nothing except from what they've been thought (e.g. nothing interesting or revolutionary). You ought to emancipate from this "State" and find your own means of developing the country if you want any progress to be made, really.

Russia`s greatest weakness is its political system which is overly reliant on the strong king as opposed to a political class that share similar beliefs that exist in the US & China and once in the USSR.

If Putin dies tomorrow, what then, who takes over? Will the replacement not be tempted to change course for an easy life? The Russian parliament has the United Russia party in control, next the old communists then the rest are a bunch of odd balls.

It’s not surprising that Putin is reluctant to change this as to do so presents the risk to him, but sooner or later this problem will reach crisis point, even if he survives Ukraine which is debatable, he`s 70 now and to stay on past 2024 will start to look ridiculous.

That’s why they have personalised this attack on Putin because he is the weak link, take him out & it all falls apart.

On the recurrent theme of Rural = Virtuous / Urban = Wicked: as I did previously, I have to say it is not so clear cut.

Personally, I have experienced living in big cities, and in a reasonably sized town. I have to say that I found the anonymity of cities over two millions people invaluable. When in a town, you have to watch anything you say and do, because gossip rapidly spreads, people is keen to form an image of you in their heads and this image will last. But their head is much often simpler than the city-dweller's. In cities, people don't care too much, and also your daily business will probably be spread about over various neighborhoods, so you can compartimentalize your life.

Not like that in the town. Every stupid thing you do is important for these busybodies. For instance, what you ate in the morning, or if you do your groceries in one shop instead of the other, these are, inexplicably, very big deals for them.

True there are no strangers, but a community! Which means anyone you had never seen before can give you the stink-eye because he heard you went to the wrong shop, and also that returning home you didn't say 'Hi' back to the lady who you had absolutely no connection with, but greeted you anyway. Or for whatever other reason, you'll never know why he's glancing at you, you can just conjecture. And this stuff sticks, you cannot get away from it. He's going to glance at you every time he sees you in the street. If you try to confront him, he will turn into an open enemy, from now on. I mean, these people carry grudges for decades. They gossip each other to death to keep each other down.

It's natural then that as soon as he is given the opportunity, the rural peasant hurries to swell the city slums.

Once, I had the post office people's guess of what was inside a parcel I received on my neighbour mouth that same evening, in the form of a hinting grin when casually speaking about cables (I ordered a cable, and it is not normal to engage in casual conversation on the subject of cables).

And if it were not for country gentry, which is obviously not your average rural person, nothing of any intellectual worth has ever come out of the countryside.

By the way, maybe in America is different: I am not referring about sprawling mcmansion suburbs, of which I have no experience, but to European city neighbourhoods made of buildings 4-8 stores tall.

Ron Unz has just published a piece about one of the topics examined in this post.

In the self-celebrating style characteristic of his latest articles, he illustrates how the ADL actually fears tackling the often outrageous contents of his site, because they fear this will give elite and semi-elite readers exposure to dissident ideas. This could be deadly for the System, he opines. So he actually has taken to taunt them, with no repercussions so far. He doesn't mention that where he comes from makes him hard to criticize, though.

As an interesting side note, Hochul the DNC crooked governor of NY only won in the 2022 midterm elections because of all the ballots cast by voters in Manhattan. Those living in the suburbs and upstate NY wanted her out.

Question... In your cultivated opinion, is Putin of 2022, the same as Putin of 2012? 2000? Or was he replaced with a body double?

It appears that V.V. Putin has walked into a variety of the dictator's trap. Now, you say, he's surrounded mostly by crass yesboys. If so, he's kept in power by people whose loyalty is as valuable as the hot air from a papist chauvinist's mouth. This suggests a fatal lack of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. It's ironic given his reported affinity for chabad.

Probably it's too late for him to make the required course changes. It wouldn't be accepted by his fans, and, if he attempted it in earnest, the yesboys would quickly recognize the resulting signs of a lion on his way out of power. Still, whoever follows Mr. Putin needs to move on from caesarist gimmicks like proping up the Orthodox Church. The cult of Geezuss, Moutebank, was refuted convincingly long before the "Russian" revolution and subsequent Bolshie coup d'etat. A much shrewder politician, or caesar, would have figured out how to build on that without commiting the unforced errors made by the degenerate West. (These result mainly from bad ontology, esp. the widespread delusion that either God exists or the crudest materialism is true.)

As ever, even in ancient times, only simpletons and incorrigible fanatics are interested in consuming the baby food and grass offered by the priests of GM who, even if we are charitable toward the priests, commited suicide with some help from the Sanhedrin and the Romans. What then must you expect from any recidivism to that Semitic sludge? You can see it already. Russians have entered a phase of national decomposition. The flight of the liberals is a symptom of this, and of other troubles.

Unfortunately, as the feminists say "the future is female." Unless drastic preventive action is taken, women will shift Russia squarely in the globalist neocohen, anal revolution camp. Only China and Iran seem to be willing to tackle that problem.

So, the question isn't whether Russia will be able to save itself. It is how long will it take for the rot to destroy the soul of Russia?

Many valuable insights.... " God didn’t make any mistakes when he consigned my individual soul to the greater Slavic Oversoul. That means that I was born a Slav for a reason (life on hard mode)" was particularly touching.. That soul was evident in me since childhood. I was 62 before I found my biological father's family and learned of my heritage. Explained everything....

Hey Rolo I don't see any way to directly contact you so I'll have to ask this question here: What jobs/careers would you recommend for a man in his early 20's who is very much awake to the globalist agenda and wishes to be as independent of their influence as much as possible? So many employers in America have shown themselves to be in lockstep with the COVID vaccine authorities, to be reliant on one of them for a paycheck when the ultimatum comes down to get vaxxed or participate in the next nefarious agenda is something I want to avoid.
